Film Magazine Designs:

This is the film magazine front cover design that features our new original feature film 'A Winters Love'. The film magazine follows all conventions of a stereotypical magazine therefore it will catch the attention of the audience who have an interest in film magazines as they know what they are looking for. The target audience is 15-25 year old females therefore the main images are aimed towards that target audience.

Colour Scheme:
The colour scheme throughout the magazine cover reflects the target audience through the use of bold, bright colours that catches the eye and makes the main image stand out. The background colour is a plain bold colour which is purple tone to reflect the targeted gender as well as reflecting the winter atmosphere which in turn relates back to the movie. The puff is a bright orange colour that stands out from the rest of the magazine due to it not having a relation to anything else on the cover - this is a typical convention of a puff.

Main Image:
The main image is a representation of the type of movie 'A Winter Love' is and the type of audience it is aimed towards. The image reflects the intimacy between the two characters and is positioned in the centre of the page taking up the majority of it. This makes it eye catching and makes it stand out. The clothing that the two people in the image are wearing are lighter toned colours that stand out more from the darker background.

Masthead, Skylines and Cover lines:
The magazine masthead follows the typical conventions of what a magazine title would do, it is positioned large and bold spreading the width of the magazine cover. It is positioned on top of the main image and is white. The reason for it being white is for it to be bright and stand out amongst the dark, cool toned background colour that runs throughout the background. The masthead of the movie, the skyline and cover lines are all done using the same bold font. This is to keep a running pattern throughout the poster that catches the eye and makes it easier for the audience to read. The cover lines are black as they stand out more in a dark colour against the light background of the characters, on the other hand the skyline and movie title are in white. The reason for this is white makes it stand out more against the coloured background it sits on and it also ties in nicely with the colour scheme of the movie magazine title. It runs a common pattern throughout.

My final digital film poster:
My final digital magazine front cover design follows the design of my original drawn idea however the colour schemes have changed slightly as the colours that I have now decided to use work better with the colour tones of the characters clothing compared to what I had originally planned. The writing throughout is all white in order for it to stand out, be visible and eye-catching. The main title and the skyline along the top of the magazine have a thick outer line of black which draws more attention due to them being the main titles within the front cover and makes then stand out more. The background colour is sky blue with a lighter blue framing the image throughout; this in turn makes the image stand out. The puff instead of a bright orange colour is a light shade of pink which stands out amongst the blue background as well as tying in with the white throughout. The characters facial expressions are dramatic and give an intimate feel to the audience which connects the to romantic genre.
